Traveller-Specific Accommodation: Practice, Design and Management

This is the second in a series of three reports produced as part of a Traveller Accommodation Study by the Centre for Housing Research. A core feature of this work has been the development and application of an indicator system to measure various aspects of Traveller accommodation provision. It is hoped that the indicator system might provide a framework on which national standards could be developed and agreed.

Poverty Impact Assessment of The Way Home: A Strategy to Address Adult Homelessness in Ireland 2008 – 2013

This Poverty Impact Assessment was carried out by the Centre for Housing Research. For the poverty impact assessment process, over 550 stakeholders were invited to attend one of two consultation events where they had the opportunity to comment on a draft summary of the proposed strategy.

Tackling anti-social behaviour: international problems, indigenous solutions

Supporting Low-income Homebuyers in Ireland, 1990–2003:

This study, commissioned by the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government and carried out by the Centre for Housing Research examines the effectiveness of low-income home ownership schemes over the period 1990–2003 and to make recommendations for any necessary improvements.

This Policy Discussion Paper by the Centre for Housing Research presents good practice guidelines to assist housing authorities in their functions relating to the private rented sector with a view to achieving increased effectiveness, including more strategic and proactive approaches to enforcement. These Good Practice Guidelines are intended to be a practical tool for local authorities. The Guidelines offer checklists, ideas, practical solutions and possible approaches.
