Affordability Research Support Programme Projects

Researcher: Housing Europe
Title:  #Housing2030 - Improving Housing Affordability in the UNECE region

Overview:

This European wide project explored a number of key factors which affect affordability; investment pathways, good governance and regulation, climate change, environmental and health impacts and access and availability of land.

A series of conferences were held on these key themes and the project committee and a core group of researchers worked together on a final report which provides a toolkit of policies to respond affordability challenges.

The fourth and final conference on Investment Pathways was hosted by Ireland and opened by Minister Darragh O’Brien. UCD’s Michelle Norris presented the ‘Affordable Housing Finance’ toolkit.

The final report was launched in Geneva in October 2021 at the UNECE Ministerial Meeting on Urban Development, Housing and Land Management and the 82nd session of the Committee on Housing, Urban Development and Land Management.
