Land Management
The Housing Agency has responsibility for managing sites in its ownership through various practices aimed at optimising the availability of the land for development. These sites were transferred to the Housing Agency under the Land Aggregation Scheme (2010-2013) (LAGS) and also from the former National Building Agency.
As part of its land management approach the Housing Agency enters into third-party agreements where appropriate.
Land Development
The Housing Agency does not develop land directly. Instead, housing delivery is facilitated on Housing Agency Lands through a variety of delivery partners including:
Local Authorities (LAs)
Approved Housing Bodies (AHBs)
Public Private-Partnership (PPP)
Land Development Agency (LDA)
Other third-party (Private developer, private and community providers of elderly and assisted living accommodation).
The Housing Agency has also transferred sites to facilitate the delivery of school-building, school amenities and community enterprise innovation premises. All land disposal on Housing Agency lands to any third party is subject to Housing Agency Board approval, and also Ministerial approval where relevant.
