Title:  An examination of the potential of the “intentional social mix” housing approach through an evaluation of Focus Ireland’s Meascán Housing Model.

Overview:

Focus Ireland’s Housing Model addresses the issue of integrating people with complex support needs into sustainable communities and is the first ‘intentional social mix’ model in Ireland. This project will evaluate the Meascán Housing Model in Co. Tipperary, assessing the implementation of its principles, to demonstrate the value of the model in improving the benefits and sustainability of social housing projects.

This project will examine the effectiveness of internal systems and processes, including how the project is working, how well objectives have been achieved and any learnings including factors that enabled or blocked its progress.

This project will provide guidance and best practice across the sector by delivering a set of recommendations for housing providers aiming to address similar challenges. It will convene an Expert Advisory Group to establish longer term ‘Action Learning Network’ that can lead to further opportunities for projects and partnerships to progress and assess the Meascán model.
