Title: The impact of cost rental housing on social inclusion and wellbeing: affordability, security and community |

Overview: This research examines cost rental housing, examining its potential to provide affordable and secure homes. Cost rental is one of the most significant housing policy developments in recent years, which opens us new avenues for housing supply, increases the availability for affordable housing for households unable to access social housing/home ownership, and provides long term affordability and security. This is the first in-depth research and evaluation of cost rental. It will assess the actual and potential impact of cost rental on affordability, security and community/place making, through a survey questionnaire, qualitative interviews, and collaboration with three AHBs: Clúid, Respond and Tuath Housing. Centrally, this research asks, what is the impact of cost rental on residents’ experiences of affordability, security of tenure, and community, and how does this support social inclusion and wellbeing? |
