In October 2022, the Irish Architectural Foundation and The Housing Agency launched the Housing Unlocked exhibition. Running until mid-February 2023, this exhibition showcased eight innovative ideas to create more and better housing for our communities.
The exhibition garnered significant public and media interest and enthusiasm. Over24,000 people visited the exhibition, and 75 public engagement events were held.

The Housing for All plan makes provision for innovations to improve, support and accelerate delivery of housing. In support of this strategy, the Housing Agency Procurement and Delivery Unit will supply technical services and supports in the area of modern methods of construction.

The Housing Agency's Procurement Unit have developed this guidance document as a contractual mechanism for encouraging the use of Modern Methods of Construction through the use of Capital Works Management Framework, PW-CF2 Public Works
Contracts for Building Works Designed by the Contractor.

The Summary of Social Housing Assessments 2022 brings together information provided by local authorities on households in their functional area that are qualified for social housing support but whose social housing need is not currently being met. It is a point-in-time assessment of the identified need for social housing support across the country.

This compilation brings together in one place writing from the Agency in relation to multi-unit developments and owners’ management companies.

Articles explain the relationships, stakeholders, and systems underpinning apartments, an expanding component of Ireland’s housing stock. 

It is hoped that the material will provide readers with an enhanced understanding of the elements necessary to achieve successful apartment living.

This report evaluates the second phase of the ‘Housing with Support’ development in Inchicore. Housing with Support is a specialised housing option, primarily for older people, that falls between living independently in the community and living in a nursing home or other form of long-term care. This evaluation examines the successes and barriers in this phase, the reasons why they happened, and the solutions involved.

This study is the third in the Housing Agency series National Study of Housing Experiences, Attitudes and Aspirations in Ireland.

The Housing Options document is a guide to the housing options that are available through local authorities. It provides information on social housing eligibility, how to apply for social housing support, assessment and social housing provisions. 

The document is an initial source of information. All local authorities have websites where additional and more detailed information can be found on all the options contained in this document.

This toolkit has been developed as a mechanism of capturing and sharing the learning arising from the Dublin City Age Friendly Housing with Support project. The overall aim is to provide a guide, particularly for social housing providers (to include local authorities and approved housing bodies (AHB) interested in developing Housing with Support projects for older people. It may also be useful to private developers interested in developing this type of housing.

It incorporates learnings from phase one and phase two of the Housing with Supports project.

The Housing Agency Housing Insight Series aims to disseminate good practice in housing and innovative solutions among housing practitioners in Ireland. Issues are published quarterly and provide a case study of effective, practical implementation of a piece of housing policy or practice. The resulting short paper is intended to provide a knowledge base and provide ideas to others in the sector, building the overall capacity of the sector. The Housing Agency sources case-studies from our staff, The Housing Agency panels, housing practitioners and stakeholders.
